The product of a partnership between McLaren Engineering—the research-and-design division of Linamar Corporation and Honda Marine, the first McLaren Performance M300 outboard engine will debut at the Miami International Boat Show next month. According to a press release from Honda Marine, the “performance-inspired marine outboard delivers enhanced top-end power, premium quality, outstanding reliability and durability.” It will be available in 2025.
The 300-hp outboard engine will be available this year.
The McLaren Performance M300 outboard is based on the existing Honda BF250 marine platform, a proven Honda 3.6-liter V-6 engine that integrates “Honda, “durability, quality and reliability and “performance-leading technologies.” Advanced features include programmed fuel injection, dual -channel, indirect-air-circuit induction and two-pass cooling system for long-term durability.
The M300 is designed for powerboats starting at 24 feet long. As for future and perhaps more-powerful offerings in the Honda/McLaren outboard line, Honda Marine will announce plans in the next few months.

The Miami International Boat Show is set for February 12-16.
